This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative intending to extend the work range from natural gas to liquefied petroleum gas in both domestic and commercial permanent dwellings by practical and knowledge and understanding assessment.

This generic Changeover Gas Safety Assessment comprises of 6 Core competences:

  1. Characteristics of Liquefied Petroleum Gas
  2. Cylinder Locations, Safety Requirements and Sizing for Single Supply
  3. LPG Supply Pressures - Operation of and Positioning of Emergency Isolation, Flow Controls and Valves
  4. Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures
  5. Test for Soundness
  6. Installation of Pipework and Fittings - Related to LPG

Range of appliances covered - All liquefied petroleum gas fittings.

NB: The above competencies & additional specific sector competencies will be required for Residential Park Homes (RPH), Leisure Accommodation Vehicles (LAV), Boats (B), External Pipework (EP), Mobile Catering Vehicles & Mobile Cabinet Heaters clarified with the appropriate code on satisfactory completion e.g. (RPH) ot (LAV) etc.

Category 1 Candidates holding any one of the following:

  • CCN1
  • COCN1
  • CCCN1
  • CCLNG1
  • CESP1

Duration

  • Training:    1 Day
  • Assessment:    1 Day

Note:

Re-Assessment Domestic Core + Appliances costs cover up to 4 Appliances. If further appliances are to be renewed, a charge of £ 80 per appliance will be incurred.

Additional appliances (not previously held) will be charged at £ 145 each.

Registration Fees: In some instances registration fees will not be included.

Current rates: Domestic £65, Non- Domestic £85, Unvented Hot Water £40, LPG £45, OFTEC £45

All prices are subject to Vat @ 20 %

Please note that training is not a pre requisite to assessment
